For a breakdown of all the main athlete costs associated with participating in SwimRun (per event) please visit our Travel Costs Summary Page.

The airport athletes will want to fly into (5 miles or 10-15min from downtown Portaland/Casco Bay) is Portland International Jetport (PWM).

PWM isn’t a huge airport but it’s big enough that it still has a wide variety of rental cars Click this link to rent a car if you’d like to have one and ferry it over. It’s also quite easy to get a shuttle, Uber or Lyft from the airport to downtown Portland. From there it’s quite easy to hop the Ferry to any of the islands, including our start line on race morning. If you’d rather stay on the islands you may do that as well.

If the hotel you book your nights in has an airport shuttle it’s likely they’ll pick you up and drop you off for free from the airport. We recommend checking with your hotel and finding out all the details on their shuttle service (if they have one). If they don’t Uber or Lyft are always decent options (download their apps for a better experience) to get where you need to go or you can checkout the many ways to get around Portland by clicking here.

We recommend you stay at our host hotel to make your visit as easy and convenient as possible (listed below, Holiday Inn Portland by the Bay). If you would like to stay somewhere else in Portland or even on Peaks or Long Island (near the start(s) of the races) checkout the other links also posted below.

Guests may stay wherever they’d like (and there’s plenty of variety throughout the city and islands if you google search it) but we recommend the Holiday Inn Portland By The Bay. It’s where we will host our packet pickup as well as our athlete briefing the day before.
